Hi, I'm Laura
Author, publisher and the founder of Write Your Books.

I've been where you are
Every time I find a tool or a trick that works in my own writing, I stop what I'm doing. I get excited to share it, because I know how long it took me to find it.
I've been writing books since 2005. In 2015 I started my own press, Winterwolf Press. When I first started, I didn't know how lucky I was. I had the right people around me: several editors and publishing pros who knew how things worked and were in it for the writing, not the money. I sat side by side with them and learned so much.
Then, one by one, they retired. I found myself lost.
The expensive years
I spent a fortune paying people to help me do it right. Most of it was wasted. Editors promised me things. Publicists promised me things. I got scammed more times than I like to admit, and because I'd worked with such great people early on, I could tell.
The last program I bought cost a small fortune. It was sold as step-by-step. I'm neurodivergent, and I need every detail before I can move forward. My mind works like a puzzle. It has to have all the pieces. That program had huge leaps it expected me to make. I could have forced myself through them, but the story would have suffered.
So I built the steps
Write Your Books is the place I wish I'd had. A place where authors can learn from someone who has been through it, with real steps and no skipped pieces, and without getting scammed.
I'm not saying I'm the best. There are plenty of people better than me. But I know what I've learned, and I know the mistakes I've made. I can teach you how not to make them.
